“THE ETERNAL PRESENT MOMENT CAST IN BRONZE”

A solid bronze mirrored arrow, derived from David’s other artwork titled “The Truth About Reality”, paradoxically represents a state of awareness of the ever-changing now. In the spirit of Heraclitus’ philosophy, which emphasizes the inevitability of change, and astrophysicist Arthur Eddington’s concept of “The Arrow of Time,” highlighting time’s irreversible progression, the artwork interacts with philosophical and scientific ideas about human perception of reality and time.
It can represent those eternal play moments we had when we were children or the immersion in a project when we are fully engaged in the process and lose track of time. There exists a cinematic state of wonder, a kind of flow where your consciousness is both observer and participant. It might be a perfect balance or the ideal proportion and compression of observation and interaction. Indeed, when one extreme of this dual state becomes more dominant, the experience of life’s sublime moments seems to vanish.
The artwork also serves as a symbol of the inherent value of time. In a world where our attention requires constant guarding and direction, the mirrored arrow can make us reflect on two intertwined concepts: the timeless essence of being in the present moment, and our ongoing engagement with the passage of time. Within the artwork, these dual states of awareness coalesce seamlessly”.
